Clifden ecoCampsite supports local indigenous crafts & our local pottery shop is well worth a visit. Workshops lasting 1 hour to a full day can be arranged through us at special rates* at Alan Gaillard Stoneware Pottery near Clifden.  Gaillard Pottery was first created in the early 1970's in Dublin by Alan Gaillard Shattock and has recently re-opened at his new purpose built studio in Clifden, Connemara. Using all natural raw materials for his glazes Alan produces a range of stoneware pottery which includes table & ovenware, lamps, giftware and individual one-off pieces that are ideal for wedding presents or as gifts for special occasions. A new addition to Alan's work combines intricate beach-combed driftwood, uncannily moulded by the sea into life-like forms, with hand-built ceramic bases, which are totally unique.

O’Dalaigh Jewellery

The work of O’Dalaigh Jewellers is heavily influenced by rock carvings on monuments at Newgrange and Knowth in Co Meath, Ireland (some of the oldest known rock carvings) and magnificent silver and gold Celtic artefacts in the National Museum of Ireland in Ki ldare street Dublin. They also draw inspiration from artefacts at Museums throughout Europe, and from the famous Irish Celtic/Christian Book of Kells with its fine scroll and interlace work.
